For Reinsurers
Reinsurers who receive reports and data from the TAI Life Reinsurance System sometimes have questions about what they receive from our clients. As the reinsurer, you should first contact the client to see if they can answer your questions. If they are unable to answer your questions to your satisfaction they can contact TAI for further support in answering your questions. They may even ask us to follow up with you directly.
The extracts provided to reinsurers from TAI are in the TAI Common Format. This extract layout is updated with new fields as the system is enhanced. These fields are added to filler areas that can be ignored unless you wish to use the new fields. Clients can also add client specific fields to these extracts for their specific reporting needs. These client specific fields are added to a client filler area that can also be ignored. The primary fields in the extract are never modified until an entirely new layout is designed.
The links below are the base system EDI extract layouts from the 2.00 release forward. The release number is shown in the file header of the extract. The first decimal digit is a major release number, the second digit after the decimal is a minor release number. The extracts for the major release digit are compatible with all minor releases. For example, if an extract says release 2.14, use the 2.10 extract layout. If you are unsure which release an extract file is from, contact your client to find out which release they are using. They will also be able to provide you with the actual layout they are using including any client modified fields.
