Tom Freitas holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston College and an MBA from Fordham University. He started his career in IT development in investment banking and has spent the last 17 years in the reinsurance industry specializing in Operations and IT management. In his new role as CEO of TAI, Tom is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and for creating and implementing the strategic and tactical plans of the organization.
Pete Blackwell is COO of TAI. He is responsible for managing operations, budgeting, approving the company financials as well as providing guidance on system installations, reinsurance conversions and upgrades for TAI clients.
Pete graduated with a B.A. from Concordia University Chicago with a major in computer science and a minor in business, after which he worked for a national computer consulting company for 11 years in the pharmaceutical, student loan, radio communications, and insurance industries. Pete joined the company in 1998 for the development of the now sunsetted Windows version of the TAI system, and also was a primary developer of the TAI.Net system. Prior to being in the COO position, Pete served on the management team at TAI as Vice President.
Senior Vice President, Business Development
In his current role as Senior Vice President, Business Development, Brian is tasked with growing TAI’s current software and service offering to the Canadian, US and Caribbean markets. As well as all lines of business across the LOGiQ3 Group.
Brian has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years, with experience in the life, health and special risk lines of business. In addition to business development, he has held leadership roles in pricing, sales and customer service. Brian spent the past 3 years as the Vice President of Individual Insurance for a major reinsurer in Canada where he developed and implemented strategic initiatives for existing and targeted clients that resulted in 70% growth during that time.
Brian has worked for insurance and reinsurance companies in the U.S. and Canada and is familiar with the markets in both countries.
Brian holds a Bachelors of Mathematics degree at the University of Waterloo and is a member of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA).
