TAI-Soundbytes-Newsletter-Q3

Welcome to Sound Bytes – TAI’s Quarterly Newsletter, bringing you the latest from across the TAI family. We’d like to start by taking this opportunity to wish all our clients a safe and happy holiday season. While 2021 brought another year of uncertainty and challenges, we hope you could find moments to recalibrate, reset, and reinvent throughout. As we look forward to 2022, we are hopeful for some semblance of normality. For those of you who love a Winter Wonderland – Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Tech Corner

Each quarter, we bring you a few tips to help you get the most out of your TAI system. This quarter we’re sharing two popular articles from the Help Desk Knowledge Base:

  1. Automatic Reinsurance – Treaty Effective Dates
  2. Importing Rates into TAI

Custom Projects

Here are two recent custom projects we’ve worked on in the TAI community. If either of these are of interest to your business, please contact us via the TAI Help Desk.

  1. IFRS17 Reporting – Creation of a custom reporting feeds for IFRS17 regulatory reporting.
  2. Reinsurance Operations Optimization – Consolidated and simplified reinsurance administration processes to eliminate inefficiencies. We share the results of this engagement, including the elimination of 84% of claims admin files and reports by streamlining processes in this case study.

Fan Club

In celebration of the holiday season, this quarter’s Sound Bytes Fan Club competition tests your classic holiday movie knowledge. No googling! Remember: Santa sees you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake, so he’ll probably know if you use a search engine to win this quarter’s trivia…

Can you match the quotes to the classic holiday movie? Complete this trivia for your chance to win a Starbucks e-gift card.

Congratulations to Sylvia from Beneficial Life for being the Q3 Sound Bytes Fan Club winner!

Meet the Band

Emma

Emma Peterson

Meet TAI’s newest addition to the Project Management team, coming to us from her home office in St. Louis, MO, Project Manager Emma Peterson. Join us in giving her a warm welcome to the TAI family. With more than 10 years’ experience in the field, including two years serving as Head of Global Go-To-Market for Partners at PayPal, Emma was eager to join TAI in August 2021.

Beyond work, Emma is an avid fan of theater and travel. In fact, she has an undergraduate degree in theater direction. Needless to say, Emma is excited for when international travel becomes easier. She hopes to embark on trips to Sweden and Denmark, as well as a heritage trip to Scotland, which is where her husband’s family comes from.

Until then, Emma is happy to relax by completing paint-by-number paintings … ideally while listening to her favorite song, “Blackbird,” by The Beatles.

Wisdom from Wilson

wilson

– The last word …

Did 2021 fly by quickly? It felt like 2020 took forever, and 2021 went by in the blink of an eye. Looking back, adjusting to life in the pandemic made for an interesting year …

  • Finding a way to work from home amid kids’ remote learning and pets who like to interrupt video meetings. Felt like I accomplished something major.
  • Hosting the successful TAI User Group with Nicole. Felt great (although I don’t remember much, as the stress of not wanting to screw up caused me to black out during it).
  • Shopping for groceries without lining up and seeing that the shelves were stocked with toilet paper. Felt normal.
  • Visiting family and friends and realizing that your social skills were still miraculously there. Felt relieved.

Sure, there are some things I’m not sure of just yet – but I can say I’m looking forward to seeing what 2022 brings.

One thing I won’t miss? The beard. Rather than risk the awkwardness and self-esteem hits that a beard of such length brings during the holiday season, I said goodbye to it after a year and a half of growing it. The highlights? I present, Wilson's Pandemic Beard: A Tribute
