[TAI Newsletter] Q1 2017: Welcoming a New Year

Happy New Year! I hope you had the chance to relax and unwind over the holidays with family, friends and loved ones. For me, it was also a time to reflect on the past year before ringing in a new one. Over the course of 2016, TAI had many accomplishments to celebrate. We launched Insights & Connector, hosted another successful User Group and saw an increase in client participation in our TAP Program.

Our clients play a large role in driving our strategic activity which is why I think it is important to share our milestones with you. Before jumping into the exciting year ahead, I put together a quick year in review for 2016.

Expanding TAI Reinsurance Software Portfolio

The industry is changing, and TAI is also changing.  We stay committed to our roots in reinsurance administration, however we embrace the opportunity to grow in new directions.  We look to the future of TAI as a software platform that enables reinsurance processing, data management and analysis.  Which is why we were thrilled to launch Insights and Connector in 2016. With our clients’ needs and innovation always top of mind, these new tools will allow users to broaden their capabilities. By leveraging Insights’ analytics platform and Connector’s data movement utility users can make their lives easier.

We are extremely pleased to announce that  TAI Connector has by chosen by a leading US insurer as the primary data integration tool for managing reinsurance data transfer.  More adoption is on the way in 2017, along with further innovations across our technology stack!

TAP Program Membership Growth

Our TAI Advisory Program (TAP) consists of clients and stakeholders that steer and influence the TAI Product Development life cycle. Throughout the year we engage this group to gather valuable feedback that directly influences our software enhancements.

In 2016, we were thrilled to host our first exclusive TAP lunch at the User Group meeting where members got hands on experience with Insights & Connector. We also listened to TAP members on industry specific needs, which we intend to respond in 2017. (Check out what we learned about Trends in Reinsurance Training Needs here).

We were excited to see an increase in TAP membership as it means more clients are actively interested in being part of the change that is happening in our industry.

User Group 2016 Highlights


Our annual User Group meeting gives industry professionals the opportunity to make connections, learn about products and software updates and gain actionable insights to apply to their business. This was surely evident at our 27th User Group hosted in 2016.  You can catch all of the highlights from the 2016 User Group here!

Leadership Expanding in North America and International Markets

In 2016, we announced the addition of Brian Traxler as Senior Vice President of Business Development, North America & The Caribbean, a former Marketing Actuary at SCOR Global Life who will focus on business development in North America.  Joining Brian is Andy Hazell, Head of Strategy & Business Development - EMEA who joined in 2015, leading opportunities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) to expand the TAI offering into new markets.

TAI.NET Software Enhancements

We are always looking for opportunities to advance technology and ultimately improve your TAI experience. At the 2016 User Group we introduced the newest releases to TAI .NET. Earlier in the year we shared the announcement of our TAI Cloud delivery for all of our products. Learn more about what drives our software enhancements here.

TAI Staff Changes

This year we announced the retirements of Tim Kuhn, Steve Jerger and Pat Cronquist. We are grateful for all three of their outstanding contributions to TAI over the years and wish them the very best in the future.  In addition, we have also added new members to the team, as well as some role changes to better align with our current and future business strategy.  The full list of staff changes is below.

2017 – The Year Ahead


Well that’s a wrap on a busy but exciting 2016! Now we look forward to continuing the momentum in 2017.  We are excited for what’s to come and celebrate each day as a blessing, one more chance to make an impression on the world.  Join us as we continue our evolutionary approach to reinsurance & risk systems.
