It’s hard to believe we have less than two months to go in 2017. It has been an exciting year so far and it certainly isn’t over yet. In the final newsletter of this year, I’ll be revealing the location for User Group 2018, discussing the outlook of the life annuity market, reflecting on how to win in innovation and sharing our latest resources from the TAI blog.

How to Win at Innovation in Life Insurance
Given unlimited resources, capital, and the removal of hurdles, what is the largest industry challenge you would like to address?
I recently had the chance to answer this question with a group of thought leaders from various parts of the insurance eco-system at the 2017 SOA Annual Meeting. In addition to revealing unique perspectives, my biggest takeaway was the importance of being open to diverse perspectives when innovating in our industry.

Contagiously High Energy at RAPA 2017
Another highlight from the fall conference season was RAPA 2017. The high energy, dynamic speakers, and engaging sessions made the 20th anniversary of the meeting one of the best events yet. Perhaps one of the most entertaining, yet educational sessions, was learning how to co-create and collaborate using spaghetti and marshmallows, led by Sven Roehl from Cookhouse Lab.
Other notable highlights included outgoing chair, Greg LaRochelle of RBC Canada, welcoming incoming chair, Eddie Martinez from AXA. And lastly, I was thrilled to be selected to lead the Innovation Sub-committee for RAPA. I am excited for the opportunity to engage the reinsurance administration community on industry innovation and look forward to driving change through creative thinking.
